About the Client
Our client is a leading healthcare institution in Singapore, providing top-tier medical care to a diverse and extensive patient population. The Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine is one of the largest in the country, serving a catchment area of over 1 million people. The department is recognized for its expertise in neuroanaesthesia, neurocritical care, surgical intensive care, and regional anaesthesia, and provides anaesthesia services for a wide range of specialties, including neurosurgery, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, urology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, endoscopy, and radiology.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anaesthesia care to patients throughout the perioperative period, including pre-operative evaluations, intraoperative management, and post-operative care.
- Deliver pre-operative assessments, preparation, and counselling to patients in the Pre-admission Assessment, Counselling & Evaluation (PACE) Clinic.
- Manage acute pain following surgery, ensuring optimal recovery for patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care, including neurosurgical and surgical intensive care units.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and contribute to the advancement of anaesthesiology practices.
- Mentor and educate medical students, junior and senior residents, contributing to their clinical and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices in anaesthesia care.
Requirements
- A recognized basic medical qualification and postgraduate qualifications such as MMed, FANZCA, FRCA, FCAI, or American Board of Anaesthesiology certificate.
- Completion of an accredited advanced specialist training programme, eligible for accreditation as a Specialist Anaesthetist with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) and the Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB).
- Extensive experience in anaesthesiology, including managing anaesthesia for various complex surgeries and critically ill patients.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams.
- A passion for teaching and mentoring medical professionals, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Eligibility to practice in Singapore and valid registration with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).
