Responsibilities
The Consultant in Breast Surgery will:
- Manage a broad spectrum of breast conditions, including benign and malignant breast diseases, conducting comprehensive assessments and diagnosis.
- Perform breast surgical procedures, including lumpectomies, mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsies, and breast reconstruction surgeries.
- Oversee multidisciplinary care for patients, collaborating with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive treatment plans.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and recovery.
- Conduct and interpret breast imaging results, guiding further treatment decisions.
- Mentor and train medical staff, including residents and junior doctors, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Engage in clinical research to improve breast cancer treatment and outcomes, contributing to the advancement of breast surgery practices.
Requirements
- M.B.B.S. or equivalent medical degree.
- Recognized relevant post-graduate qualification by the Singapore Medical Council.
- Completed specialist training in breast surgery or a related surgical field.
- A specialist in breast surgery with expertise in both oncological and reconstructive breast surgery.
- Eligible for registration as a Specialist in Breast Surgery with the Singapore Medical Council.
