Responsibilities

The Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology will manage the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of gynaecological cancers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnose and manage gynecological cancers, including ovarian, cervical, uterine, vulvar, and vaginal cancers.
  • Perform complex oncological surgeries, including minimally invasive and radical procedures.
  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans involving surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, and palliative care specialists.
  • Provide counseling and support for patients regarding treatment options, prognosis, and fertility preservation.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and medical students in gynecologic oncology.
  • Participate in clinical research, trials, and advancements in cancer treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with MOH regulations, hospital protocols, and ethical standards in oncology care.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the below 3 requirements:

  1. Recognized M.B.B.S. or equivalent basic medical degree. 
  2. Relevant post-graduate qualifications recognized by the Singapore Medical Council, either 1 of the 4.
    • Certification by one of the Royal Colleges in Australia or New Zealand.
    • Certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
    • Specialist Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
    • Fellowship with the Hong Kong Academy or College
  3. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT or CCST) awarded by a competent authority of the UK or Ireland (Please note CESR is not recognized in Singapore) OR AHPRA Specialist Registration
