About the Client


Our client is a leading healthcare institution in Singapore, providing comprehensive tertiary care to a population of over 1.5 million people across the central and northern regions, offering a wide range of medical services and specialized care. The Department of Pathology at the organization is one of the most respected in Singapore, with anatomical pathology laboratories accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide expert diagnostic services in surgical (anatomic) pathology across a variety of subspecialties.
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians in multiple specialties to offer comprehensive patient care and contribute to clinical decision-making.
  • Play an active role in clinical research, contributing to ongoing projects aimed at advancing diagnostic practices and pathology techniques.
  • Rotate between 2 Government Hospitals, ensuring exposure to a diverse range of cases and clinical environments.
  • Mentor and teach residents and junior pathologists, supporting the development of the next generation of surgical pathologists.
  • Participate in departmental activities, including quality assurance, case discussions, and educational initiatives.
  • Uphold high standards of professional practice and contribute to maintaining the accreditation of the pathology laboratories.

 

Requirements

 

  • A medical degree that is registrable with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).
  • Postgraduate qualifications such as FRCPA, FRCPath, or board certification in Anatomic Pathology (or equivalent) that is acceptable for accreditation as a Specialist Pathologist with the Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB).
  • Extensive experience as a surgical pathologist, with expertise in a range of anatomic pathology subspecialties.
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and communicate effectively with clinicians.
  • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting the professional development of medical trainees and junior pathologists.
  • Eligible for registration as a Specialist Pathologist with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).
