Setting: Private Acute

Location: Singapore

Working Hours: 5-day work week with morning and afternoon rotational shifts. Must be willing to cover night shift as required.

Job Brief: 

Responsible for overseeing the Labour & Delivery Wards and Maternity Services, the Nurse Manager provides leadership and management to ensure the setting and maintenance of quality standards, staff development, and effective resource management in daily operations. They are accountable for patient care standards, ensuring the appropriate alignment of nurse competence with patient needs, staff occupational health and safety, and clinical risk management. As the face of the organization, the Nurse Manager represents the institution to key stakeholders, including doctors, patients, families, and visitors.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the clinical team to establish unit goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the induction process, assess competency, address staff learning needs, and plan career progression for nurses.
  • Assess the quality and effectiveness of nursing care and make necessary adjustments to improve care delivery.
  • Review occurrence reports and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor the budget and expenditure to ensure efficient use of consumables.
  • Plan staffing schedules to maintain an optimal skill mix in relation to patient acuity and census.

Requirements:

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Nursing, and preferably with Post Basic qualifications in Midwifery
  • Must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with Singapore Nursing Board (with full registration)
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in a similar job position and department
